Margot the girly?!

Urgent news flash! My old friend Margot (shown at my birthday party) HAS BECOME A GIRLY-GIRL!!! She wears makeup and pink skirts!!! I can't believe it!!!

But here's something funny. Last year in fifth grade, Margot told EVERYBODY she was going to China, but it turned out to be a false alarm. But now she goes to a new school with my old friend Abby, and when I was with Abby on Halloween I asked her how Margot was. She said, "Oh, she's awesome! Did you know she's going to China?"

So I sat her down and said, "Abby, there's something you should KNOW about Margot. She isn't… going to China."

My new haircut!

 I got a new haircut! Isn't it cute? It used to be really, really long with no bangs. What do ya think? Definitely an improvement? I think so too! I got it done at my Grandma's Thanksgiving party, my Aunt (?) Leenie did it. I was looking at this hair magazine, and I asked her how it would look. She said, "Oh, that would be so cute! I'll get the scissors!"

So I ran and hid, but then I agreed to get it cut. And I'm so glad I did!!!

ME AND SNEAKY LIARS!!! (YES, POPPY AND MALIK, THIS MEANS YOU!!!)

I am so flippin' screwed. My "friend" Malik was going to sleep over last night, and I let him go up in my room to read my library books, but instead of reading my library books, he read my diary. To his credit, he admitted it and didn't lie about it, but maybe that's because I was holding a frying pan.

So, he SAYS he only read the first page, but he could be lying. And if he is, that's bad, because I wrote some REALLY bad stuff in there. I honestly hope he told the truth.

AND Poppy read a page of it, but she said it was in the beginning. But she also said I left it lying open on my desk, so that shows how honest she is. BUT I think I would know if she read it. I wrote some REALLY bad stuff in there.

ME AND HALLOWEEN FOR THE LAST FRICKEN TIME

Ok here's the thing. Me and Akwia and Gwyneth were SUPPOSED to be the grey sisters remember? But Akwia couldn't come over so she sorta bailed on us. :( But then me and Gwynny were going to be salt & pepper shakers but Gwynny literally said "I'm not being a stupid shalt shaker" so I'm the lone pepper shaker. Arooo!

I'm going to have a big cardboard "dress" with a P on it, black leggings and a black shirt (so I blend in with the background), and a beret, painted silver with black dots. I'll post a picture when it's done.

Ewww! I just tasted THE most REVOLTING thing in my life! And now I can describe the devil in two words: SALT LICORICE.

Some of my parent's friends brought some licorice for us, and there are two kinds: pear and salt. The salt licorice is DISGUSTING! I had a hell of a time choking it down. So listen up, children, and heed Auntie Anna's dying words: never eat salt licorice. LOL!

Me and Knitting

This is a hat I knitted. I knitted it as a wedding present for a friend, but it was too small. So I made another one! This one was supposed to be a cat, but it looks like a pig, doesn't it? Oink! 

Here's the pattern, in case anyone knits.

supplies

1 skein of Misti Alpaca Hand Paint Chunky (any color)

1 set of size 9 straight needles

crochet hook

hat

Cast on 40 stitches. 1st row: knit all the way across. 2nd row: purl all the way across. Repeat rows 1 and 2 until you have worked 35 rows. Cast off.

Fold in half. You should have a square. Sew up one side.

ears

Rabbit: cast on five stitches. 1st row: knit. 2nd row: purl. 3rd row: knit one, increase one, knit the next 5 stitches. 4th row: purl. 5th row: knit 3, increase one, knit 3. Should have 7 stitches. Repeat 1st and 2nd row until row 11. 11th row: knit 1, decrease 1, knit 5, decrease 1, knit 1. 12th row: purl 1, decrease 1, purl 3 decrease 1, purl 1. 13th row: knit 1, decrease 1. 14th row: decrease 1. Cast off.

Cat (shown): cast on 6 stitches. 1st row: knit. 2nd row: purl. 3rd row: knit 2, decrease 1, knit 2. 4th row: purl. 5th row: knit. 6th row: purl. 7th row: knit 1, decrease 1, knit 1. 8th row: purl. 9th row: knit. 10th row: purl. 11th row: knit 1: decrease 1. 12th row: purl. 13th row: decrease 1. Cast off.

Make 2. Sew onto side of hat.

strings

Pompom: crochet a string about 5" or 4" long. Make pompom. Tie pompom to string.

Tassles: cut 4-8 five inch strings, tie together.

Make 2, tie to corners of hat.

Voila! You're done! It should fit a small baby.

I AM NOW IN 6TH GRADE! WHOO-HOO! My new teacher is Miss (Ms?) Reed. She's kind of old and she talk out of her nose and likes to be sarcastic. Oh yeah, and she picks favorites.

Madison: she's nice to me this year, but last year she picked on me. I like her okay.
